Fast & Easy Recipes for Families on the Go
That's Italian
“A little bit of nostalgia from my Italian kitchen goes a long way”
When I was growing up I can remember my mother using everything available to make the tastiest dinners that stretched into the perfect potluck reserves.
The following recipes are taken from my new cook book titled, ‘Nonnies Secret Italian Recipes’.
Memories don’t get better than when I think back to my mom singing in the kitchen on Sunday morning. The smell of hot bread and gravy was mouth watering. The kitchen was sanctified to only family and those that were lucky enough to enter.
Sunday was spaghetti day with the family. If you never had an Italian dinner with a real Italian family you are missing a great part of the dinner experience. If you were lucky enough to eat dinner in the kitchen you were accepted as part of the family. The recipes listed here are sure to bring a bit of Italy to your home.
Reminder; When you cook Italian you must not try to be perfect. A pinch means a pinch, and some of this and some of that means a little of each. Everything is done with love and instinct. Forget about it, nothing is by the book!
Another pointer; Real napkins were dish- towels that you tucked well under the chin. We are talking gravy here folks! Salad is never served first or alone. Its with the dinner or after the dinner is served. And please, don’t forget the deseert biscotti and coffee.
